The Complete Story of
Bhojohori Manna
From a humble garage space to a globally recognized culinary heritage brand. Discover the journey of passion, friendship, and authentic Bengali flavors.
The Founding Visionaries
Five friends with no formal F&B training, united solely by their profound love for people and authentic cuisine.
"Ami Sri Sri Bhojohori Manna..."
The name was chosen from a popular Bengali film song rendered by the legendary singer Manna Dey. The humorous track revolves around a widely travelled cook who returns to his native land with a signature culinary style.
The Business Model
Inspired by the charming old-world concept of ‘pice hotels’, moulded and elevated to meet the requirements of the modern day.
An Overwhelming Turning Point
By May 2003, we had huge crowds waiting outside our little outlet on weekends. It was overwhelming, and the time had come to think ahead.
Over the next few years, market-driven demand resulted in rapid expansion across Kolkata, and our team evolved into a highly structured format across marketing, operations, and CRM.
Driven by the People
Our customers—food lovers from across India and around the world, including celebrities from different walks of life—have contributed immensely to establishing Bhojohori Manna. The media also played a major role in strengthening the brand.
Expanding Horizons
Between 2009 and 2012, Bhojohori Manna expanded beyond Kolkata to Bengaluru, Siliguri, and Puri. Today, as we continue to grow, our journey of bringing authentic Bengali culinary heritage to the world continues.
